Essex looks to become Care City test bed

Our vision:

To work together to deliver
demonstrable benefits to the health,
well-being and social care of our
local population, through innovation,
education and research.

A workshop to explore the opportunities for Essex to become a Care City test bed was held today (28 March). Representatives from ARHP, ARU, NHS, local government and police attended the session to see if Basildon could become a local focus point for the initiative.
Care City is a ground breaking collaborative research, education and innovation site based in Barking. Founded on 2013, amidst a challenged health economy, there was alignment across the health and social care system that they needed to work together to better support the population.
For Greater Essex, the partners will look at creating a coherent infrastructure to maximise various activities and look at untapped opportunities with local academic institutions to work more closely with the local system.

Partners will also look at ways to support external income generation and sell collaborative work effectively and to create example sites to raise our profile and reputation.
